NIPAH VIRUS: A GROWING THREAT TO PUBLIC HEALTH

The Nipah virus is a highly contagious zoonotic pathogen that poses a significant threat to public health. First discovered in Malaysia in 1998, the virus has since caused outbreaks in several countries of Southeast Asia and the Pacific. Nipah virus infection can range from asymptomatic to severe. Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle aches, vom
